Knitty Nanma
Hi, my name is Carole or to my grandchildren, Knitty Nanma.
I have just started this website so most of it has yet to be written. Please feel free to add comments on the chat page for anything you would like me to add in.
So this is a bit about me…
I am from the UK and live down on the South Coast. I haven’t always lived there but I moved down there from South London in 2008 to look after my rather aging parents.
My Mother taught me to knit when I was five and my Grandmother taught me to crochet when I was eight.
As I have just retired, you can imagine that I have picked up a wealth of knowledge from various patterns, stuff I have found on the internet and lots of techniques I have worked out for myself along the way. I see many things on You Tube that people have said that they have devised themselves but most of these are things that I have been doing myself for many years.
I belong to several Yahoo Groups for both knitting and crochet and it seems there are many folks who struggle with pattern reading and basic skills together with confusion over needle and hook conversions between the US and UK sizes and of course the differences in terminology.
On this site I hope to gather together all the information you could ever need.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you may need answers to and I will endeavour to answer them.
Apart from general information, stitch patterns and tutorials, I also hope to be able to bring you many free garment and household patterns. These will mainly be vintage patterns that are no longer under copyright law or those which are freely available from other sites, but also I hope to bring you some of my own creations. So keep coming back regularly to see what else I have added.
Happy stitching!
